 Notice is hereby given that SEALED PROPOSALS for:

INSTALL WATER MAIN & APPURTENANCES

SNYDER STREET

 will be received by the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS of the SOUTH HUNTINGTON WATER DISTRICT, at the office of the Board at the Water District, 75 5th Avenue South, Huntington Station, New York, until 2:00 p.m. Prevailing Time, on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.

 Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above address for the South Huntington Water District.  No bids will be accepted after 2:00 PM on the date of the bid opening.  NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED.  Do not remove any pages from bid package; all bids are to be submitted intact, and each proposal must be identified by contract and project numbers on the outside of the sealed bid envelope.

 Information for Bidders, Proposal, Specifications and Contract Forms may be obtained in electronic format at the office of the District Engineer, Holzmacher, McLendon & Murrell, P.C., 575 Broad Hollow Road, New York 11747, upon deposit of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00).  Make deposit check payable to SOUTH HUNTINGTON WATER DISTRICT.  Bidder’s deposit will be refunded when the original disc is returned in good condition within ten (10) days after the bids have been opened.  Other deposits will be partially or not refunded.  Only plan holders who have registered and paid their deposit are eligible to submit bids.

 Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS, in a sum equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, and a commitment by the bidder that, if his bid is accepted, he will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

 The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities therein and to accept the bid which, in its opinion, is in the best interests of the Water District.

RE:  South Huntington Water District 2010 Landscaping Bid ADDENDUM - BID OPENING DATE CHANGE

Dear Prospective Bidder:

Due to a problem with the publication of the Legal Notice for this Bid in The Long Islander, the bid opening date for this proposal has been extended one week to March 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM.

All prospective bidders who have been direct-mailed bid specifications are receiving this notice by mail. Otherwise, this notice is being attached to all other “pick-up” copies of the specifications and it is now deemed as an official part of those specifications.

The requisite site walk-throughs previously scheduled for February 18 and 19, 2010 have similarly been re-scheduled to February 25 and 26, 2010. With the current snow cover, this will hopefully work to your advantage.

All other terms of the Specifications remain unchanged and must be strictly adhered to in order for you to bid.

Sealed Bids for the purchase of services required for Mowing Grass and Landscape Maintenance at various sites throughout the South Huntington Water District will be received at the Office of the District, 75 - 5th Avenue South, Huntington Station, New York, up to 2:00 P.M. on February 25, 2010 at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Specifications are on file in the Water District Office.  The undersigned reserve the right to reject any and all Bids or to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, who in their judgment makes the most advantageous proposal to the South Huntington Water District.

 The right is reserved to waive any informalities in, to reject any or all Bids submitted, or to accept the Bid and award the contract to the lowest, responsible, formal Bidder therefore, pursuant to the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
