Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the South Huntington Water District will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 8:30 a.m.

This Public Hearing is scheduled and being held pursuant to applicable provisions of the New York State Town Law, to elicit comments on the proposed budget for the District for the fiscal year January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023. The Board will be considering:

  • The enactment of a Resolution effectuating changes to the tax rate and water rates of the South Huntington Water District, effective January 1, 2023.
  • The enactment of a Resolution making an amendment to the ordinances of the District, to incorporate any tax rate or water rate changes made.
  • The enactment of a resolution authorizing re-allocation of the Water Quality/System Construction Capital Reserve Fund to the Capital Fund in the amount of $350,000.00 for Plant 12.
  • The enactment of a resolution authorizing re-allocation of the Water Quality/System Construction Capital Reserve Fund to the Capital Fund in the amount of $150,000.00 for the Hydrant Replacement Program.

A copy of the proposed 2023 budget, tax rate and water rates are available on the District’s website and copies can be viewed at the District office during regular business hours.
