Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the South Huntington Water District will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. The hearing will take place at the Offices of the South Huntington Water District, located at 75 5th Avenue South, Huntington Station, New York 11746

This Public Hearing is scheduled and being held pursuant to applicable provisions of the New York State Town Law, to elicit comments on the proposed budget for the District for the fiscal year January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The Board will be considering:

  • The enactment of a Resolution effectuating changes to the tax rate and water rates of the South Huntington Water District, effective January 1, 2024.
  • The enactment of a Resolution making an amendment to the ordinances of the District, to incorporate any tax rate or water rate changes made.
  • The enactment of a resolution authorizing re-allocation from the Water Quality/System Construction Capital Reserve Fund to the Capital Fund in the amount of $950,000.00, for use at Plant 18-1, the Hydrant Replacement Program and the Administration Building.

A copy of the proposed 2024 budget, tax rate and water rates can be viewed at the District office during regular business hours.
